The Deeds Tell the Story

Curious about what the Registry of Deeds does? Visit the Southern Essex District Registry of Deeds Friday May 1st and Monday May 4th between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM for a tour of our facilities. The Registry of Deeds houses the oldest, continuous land records in the nation. If your ancestors lived in Salem we may have records pertaining to the property they owned or lived in! The tour will explain the purpose and function of the Registry as well as all the research resources available for use by the public at our facility.
