Remembering Bridget Bishop

Join in person at the Salem Witch Trials Memorial on Charter Street or live via Instagram @creativecollectivema on June 10^th for a commemoration of the 330^th anniversary of the execution of Bridget Bishop, the first victim of the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Hysteria.

“You can tell a lot about a community by the way they treat their dead.” Previously accused in 1680, Bridget’s death was the point of no return for the madness that ensued. She was the only victim not executed in a group. We will honor this wronged woman, domestic abuse survivor, and acknowledge all victims and survivors of abuse, prejudice, and ignorance – past and present. The event will include 17^th Century music and floral tributes, along with information about Bridget’s life. This event is presented by The Petticoat Pages in association with Intramersive Media, LLC to promote awareness against domestic and sexual abuse to inspire action to create lasting change.
