This long-time Marbleheader gave up a great future as an architect and became an important American printmaker, photographer, gourmand, travel writer and producer of more than 80 books

A survey of local music venues and music makers including the famed Beverly pianist Eddie Duchin, bandleader-composer Jean Missud, headliners at the Charleshurst Ballroom at the Willows, and more!

Thursday, July 9 Two Salemites Go to Paris
Artist Frank Weston Benson’s stay in Paris was brief but played an important role in shaping his career; George Whitman stayed forever and achieved international renown for his still extant bookstore.

Friday, July 10 Samuel McIntire: the Man and His Mansions
An introduction to the famed architect-woodcarver of Salem, the homes he designed for local “merchant princes,” and some of the stately “McIntires” that fell victim to the wrecking ball.
