Jim McAllister on The Hawthorne Nobody Knows

Don’t Miss Jim McAllister on The Hawthorne Nobody Knows

to benefit the Samaritan Charitable Society of Salem.

Sunday, October 4th at 7 pm on Zoom

No, not Nathaniel. Rose! Local historian and perennial favorite Jim McAllister will tell us all about Hawthorne’s younger daughter, who, in her mid-forties left the literary and publishing world, became a Catholic nun (Mother Mary Alphonsa) and founded a religious order that for nearly a century and a quarter has cared for indigent, terminally ill cancer patients.

This event is a fundraiser for Samaritan Charitable Society of Salem. Suggested donation is $20 through Paypal at https://thesamaritansociety.org/help-give/ or send a check to PO Box 8644, Salem, MA 01970.
