CABIN MUSIC: Salem Film Fest

After walking away from the New England Conservatory in Boston, pianist and filmmaker James Carson backpacks overland from Spain to Japan. Upon his return, he designs and builds by hand an unusual off-grid cabin in the Canadian wilderness. It is here, away from everything, that Carson’s lived experiences and myriad creative threads mesh and an exciting, new form of composition emerges, connecting music and nature.

A poetic, genre-defying sensory experience, CABIN MUSIC is a cinematic tapestry that weaves a meditative fabric from these twin mysteries, enveloping the viewer in beauty and wonder. Carson’s performances channel these forces and energies, initiating audiences into the project’s global origins while treating them to a magical musical journey.
