Invented by Mykhaylo Semenko in 1914, kverofuturism (often translated into English as “panfuturism”) was intended to be a thoroughly modern poetics for a modern age. In this workshop, we will learn about Semenko, the Ukrainian avant-garde, and the broader world of radical Soviet art that swept Europe and the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century. Participants will try two exercises popularized by Semenko’s group of writers and artists, using avant-garde techniques to inspire their writing and their worldview.
