20th Anniversary of the Yin Yu Tang

Please join the PEM for their capstone event marking the 20th anniversary of the cultural exchange project that brought Yin Yu Tang: A Chinese Home to PEM. It is spectacular to tour, and several exciting events are planned including the performance listed below. Salem residents get free admission at the PEM.

Tours of Yin Yu Tang: A Chinese Home
10 am–4 pm

Explore the history of Yin Yu Tang and the Huang family with an enhanced guided tour. Accessibility-friendly tours available beginning at 2:15 pm. (Earlier tours are not wheelchair accessible and require a step up to enter.)

Enjoy selections at our Atrium Café inspired by Huizhou cuisine from Yin Yu Tang’s home region.

Nancy Berliner, the Wu Tung Senior Curator of Chinese Art and Culture at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, discusses the cultural exchange project that first brought Yin Yu Tang to PEM in 2003.

We are excited to welcome world-renowned pipa player Wu Man back to PEM. She previously performed at the museum as part of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silkroad Ensemble’s residency at the museum in 2004.
