Hear soundscapes of the Arctic\, including the evocative vocalizations of the narwhal\, and touch an 8-foot-long cast of a real narwhal tusk. \nOn view in The Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center\, this family-friendly\, interactive exhibition is part of PEM’s interdisciplinary Climate + Environment Initiative. Narwhal: Revealing an Arctic Legend includes contemporary Inuit sculptures and prints and a historic book from PEM’s Phillips Library collection. You will choose paint colors for this masterpiece\, and drip them onto the canvas. Peanut butter on the outside of a plastic bag will entice your dog to paint with their tongue by moving around the paint underneath the plastic bag onto the canvas. The end result will be a beautiful abstract painting and a very happy doggy.

Cast a few spells and brew up a decorative potion in a bottle to wear or display. Visit The Salem Witch Trials 1692 to learn about the real people involved in the witch trials. \nRegular Drop-in Art Making is held in person Friday–Sunday and holiday Mondays in our Create Space studios. Friday art making is recommended for ages 10 and up\, while weekend and holiday activities are suitable for ages 4 and up. Activities are created and led by PEM art educators.
