We’re located at 159 Derby Street right next to the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. \nSalem Arts Association is also excited to start our 2020 exhibition schedule with a showcase of our member artwork and our annual “Young at Art” exhibit at our new gallery located at 159 Derby St. \nSalem Arts members are exhibiting their best work showing the community what we have to offer in all of our diverse styles and artistic disciplines. \n“Young at Art”\, features artwork from local teen artists from Salem public\, private\, charter schools\, and members of Salem-based organizations\, between the ages of 13 -19 years old.\nOpening Reception: Friday\, April 3\, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The reception will also feature performances ALDRA and Lonely Bounty \nALDRA \nAlexis Richardson\, professionally known as ALDRA\, is a Georgia raised singer songwriter. Always being drawn to the arts. It wasn’t until 2015\, after ALDRA relocated to Boston shortly after highschool\, that she started taking music seriously\, writing her own songs drawing heavy influences from captivating sounds of jazz and soul music. \nNow well established in the Boston music scene\, ALDRA co- hosts a music focused podcast\,’The Villain’s Den’ and hosts an art collective\,’ALDRA’s Creative Corner’\, a safe space for all creative spirits\,out of The Middle East. \nALDRA strives to show others the radical power of words and how transformative music can be to the soul. Using her own personal experiences she creates an alluring and magnetic atmosphere wherever she performs. \nLonesome Bounty \nLonesome Bounty brings with her the beautiful and melodic music from her homeland Kenya. Singing in Swahili and her native language Gikuyu\, she has been entertaining various audiences since 2006. She sings and plays acoustic guitar in a style of music she calls Swahili Jazz. \nRegular gallery hours are every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 – 5:00 p.m.

She has performed for numerous hip hop events and has opened for concerts by Fat Joe\, Jadakiss\, 112\, Charlie Baltimore\, Kima from “Total” and Omarion. She has toured the U.S. and abroad dancing with Face Da Phlave Entertainment and Illstyle and Peace Productions.
