SUMMARY:Preservation Roadshow at the Peabody Essex Museum (POSTPONED)
DESCRIPTION:Is your closet full of boxes of old family photographs? Is your basement bursting with letters\, diaries\, and other documents from your family history? If the old adage about Yankees not throwing anything away is true\, chances are you have a stack of family papers\, albums\, and other keepsakes tucked away that you don’t know what to do with. \nMeet with the experts from the Peabody Essex Museum and its Phillips Library\, American Ancestors/New England Historic Genealogical Society\, Salem State University Archives\, and elsewhere to learn how best to care for your photographs\, documents\, manuscripts\, books\, and family papers. \nBring up to two easily transported items—or a photo of the items—and receive free advice from archivists and conservators. Please note: The experts will not provide appraisals\, nor will they perform any treatments on the documents or objects.
