DESCRIPTION:10:00 am – A short remembrance at the 1692 Salem Witch Trials Memorial (Charter Street). \n-10:30 am – History Alive is offering a talk on 17th Century clothing by historic costumer Antonio Infante (focusing on Bridget wearing a red bodice and how that did not mean she was a sex worker\, i.e. dispelling myths\, etc.) at the Old Town Hall. \n-10:50 am – Special performance of *Cry Innocent: The People Versus Bridget Bishop at the Old Town Hall Bridget’s arrest will occur outside at 10:50 am\, with the show going inside to the second floor for an 11 am performance. There is an elevator. \n*In lieu of purchasing a ticket for Cry\, audience members will be encouraged to donate to HAWC. If they present a donation receipt upon arrival for the show\, they will have free entry. \n-11:50 am – Post-show Q & A. \n-All day at Turner’s Seafood – One dollar from every ‘Bridget’s Punch’ that is ordered will be donated to HAWC. This cocktail can be ordered with or without alcohol.

DESCRIPTION:In commemoration of the upcoming Juneteenth holiday\, Essex Heritage and the National Park Service are bringing award-winning storyteller\, Valerie Tutson\, to the Salem Armory Regional Visitor Center. Valerie will be presenting “Journey to Juneteenth”\, a 45-minute program comprised of a collection of short stories celebrating freedom. During the performance\, Tutson will recount the day that news of emancipation reached Galveston\, Texas\, through the eyes of a fictional character. Audiences will learn about the day General Granger read Order No. 3 and its impact on the fictional character’s life as an enslaved person and what happened to her and her family after. \nThe event is free to attend\, but registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited.
