DESCRIPTION:The magical world is laden with symbols- some easy to discern\, others cryptic and bizarre. In this lecture\, join Catland co-owner Melissa Madara as we cover the basics of sigil-craft\, creating our own symbols for magical work and analyzing a few unique marks from witches past\, leaving with a complex understanding of this unique magical art. This class will cover an analysis of symbolism and it’s interpretation\, two methods of crafting our own sigils\, and a litany of historical examples\, traditional marks\, and unique applications for employing sigils and symbols in our own magical work. \nMelissa Madara is a witch\, storyteller\, botanist\, and co-owner at Catland Books. Their work deals with the healing power of myth\, divination\, and immersion in the natural world. They are a teacher at Catland Books and numerous other metaphysical spaces in NYC\, and are available for herbal consultations\, tarot\, and magical coaching by appointment.
